ART GAMES 2012

I Imagine 64 painted plywood squares each divided on the diagonal, and each densely covered with about 350 glued down wooden lines. The games begin when the squares are hung on the walls. 4 abutted squares is the minimum. There is the potential within this grouping to create ten different artworks. As the quantity of squares increases so too do the possibilities. Arrangements can be static and balanced or active and directional. Scale can be modest or monumental. This is painting on a grand scale - painting as installation - with potential for play, choice and change built in. Kathryn Dain
